As a teacher, questions about Spirit Guides get asked regularly. Here are the answers to nine of the most common ones.
Q1: Do I have Spirit Guides?
A1: Yes, everyone does. It doesn't matter if you believe in Spirit or not; they are still with you.
Q2: Who are they?
A2: A Spirit Guide is a Spirit who has agreed to walk with you through this life. Their purpose is to guide and assist you with staying on your Soul Path.
Q3: Is my Loved One, one of my Guides?
A3: I believe that Loved Ones are not Spirit Guides. Though they may assist your Spirit Guides in helping you, they act as your Loved One in keeping with their life experience.
Q4: How many do I have?
A4: Everyone has three permanent Spirit Guides who are with you from birth to death. They are your Main Guide, Doorkeeper and Guardian Angel. You then have Spirit Guides who come and go depending on your needs. For instance - a Spirit Guide may step forward to assist you with a particular problem or situation in your life, once resolved or finished; they will step away. Likewise, those of you who develop mediumship or healing will have a Spirit Guide dedicated to that skill (whilst training and professionally working).
Q5: What do they do?
A5: Your Main Guide oversees your entire life - they also supervise all the other Guides and Spirits who step forward to help you or work with you. Your Doorkeeper is your bodyguard who protects you from unseen problems and energies. Your Guardian Angel overlaps with your Main Guide and Doorkeeper for those of you who are more comfortable connecting to an Angelic vibration. They all work in tandem with each to support you.
Q6: Can I ask them for help?
A6: Yes. Just be mindful of free will. Spirit Guides cannot tell you what to do; they can point you in the right direction or inspire you. They often do this through thoughts, songs, dreams, signs, symbols, white feathers and so on.
Q7: How do I talk to them?
A7: Address your words or thoughts to them, and they will hear you. You can also ask them to answer through a pendulum, oracle or tarot cards or spiritual tools such as a book like 'The Book of Answers' by Carol Bolt.
I have recorded a visualisation - Meeting your Spirit Guides that you can purchase through my SHOP and listen to at home as a tool for building your relationship with them.
Q8: What do they look like?
A8: Whatever you need them to. Or something that befits the role they are taking for you. For instance, a Doorkeeper might appear as a Warrior, whilst a Healing Guide might appear as a Doctor and so on.
Q9: Do they have names?
A9: Spirit does not need or use names as we do. They recognise each other through their vibration. But, when working with humanity, they understand that we like or need a name. Your Spirit Guides will give you a name if you need one. Ask them to provide you with a name and then wait for the inspiration - trust what you get.
Should you want to build, a better relationship with your Spirit Guides, there are lots of books dedicated to the subject. Look out for a course and workshop to attend; I run them regularly - you'll find details in on Event page or in my monthly newsletter.
