The talk addresses the process of how a Wounded Inner Child came about and what a Wounded Inner Child means to us as we age. A Wounded Inner Child holds a lot of power, and that power increases with time. We are shown that we have to address the effect of trauma on the child and not the perceived degree of the trauma. As with all of Master Chous work, there is no judgment; instead, we are directed to be self-aware and start noticing our defence mechanisms and our repeating patterns. And then we can begin the work of healing.
Master Chou strikes a comforting balance of factual reality with total compassion. At the end of the talk, we are left knowing that we are capable of unravelling that which has brought the Wounded Inner Child into being. By using the small steps of listening, breathing, and hearing, we can heal from the point at which it all started: when the energetic separation occurred, the moment of locking that caused a wounded child to exist within us simultaneously with our physical adult selves.
