Prayer

This talk addresses the role of prayer in modern times. Master Chou unhooks prayer from its religious association and returns it to its original meaning. The talk is delivered as a conversation between Master Chou and a facilitator.

The discussion starts with what we mean by the word prayer and what prayer is for. Master Chou gets us to think about why and how we pray and who we pray to. We look at what we are praying for and the consequences of those prayers.

In the context of praying for ourselves and for others, Master Chou explains how free will, judgement and forgiveness of self, as well as accepting responsibility for our prayers, all come into play. The discussion then moves on to wider issues: land conflict, religious conflict and how we are affecting our planet. These are heavy topics, and as always, Master Chou gives us the tools to deal with them one step at a time.

We are left with the thought that we must step back into personal responsibility. If we step into that, we start stepping back onto our own path. If we pray from our own path, it is more potent and has more power. It produces better results because it is more respectful.

Another captivating conversation with Master Chou. It cleared up a lot of confusion I had about prayer with great detail and precision. I really liked the questions that were asked too, and it was so satisfying listening to them being answered so thoroughly and directly. He explains the potential pitfalls you can fall into with prayer, as well as how to make your prayers effective and who you can direct them to.
